Awareness Of Sound New Tools Course at FACT

Ross Dalziel is collaborating with Gary Seiffert at The University of Liverpool's School Of Architecture and Building Engineering Acoustic Unit http://www.liv.ac.uk/abe/aru/ on a course for New Tools at FACT in Liverpool

This one-day course introduces the area where contemporary sound based artistic practice meets acoustic engineering, architecture and beyond. Acoustic & environmental spaces, anechoic/reflecting chambers, infrasound, noise, standing waves, DSP, sample processing are increasingly areas of interest to practitioners using sound in contemporary art, music and beyond. Specialists in sound art and acoustics introduce the technology and key concepts of their fields and look at how they can come together with artistic practice through presentations and field trips.
